PDP lost the Presidential election because I left the party – Sen Godswill

Even if he has not left the party, President Muhammadu Buhari will still win the election because Nigerians want continuity and that is why he was re-elected.

Sen. Godswill Akpabio said his former party PDP lost the presidential election because he left the party and thousands followed him. The minority leader said his move to the ruling party APC demoralise his former party and made APC stronger.

He noted that even if he has not left the party, President Muhammadu Buhari will still win the election because Nigerians want continuity and that is why he was re-elected.

He also said that he has not lost his senatorial mandate, that he was only robbed and believed justice will be done to restore his mandate.

“Those responsible, whether the REC in Akwa-Ibom State or those he instructed know the reality, my plea now is that they should announce my result.

“The reality is that I am asking for justice. Am saying that INEC should be bold enough to do the right thing.

“I am disappointed that a state with so much followership as far as the party is concerned, the state that loves President Buhari so much was not allowed as a result of a conspiracy to bring out the votes”.

Atiku is never destined to rule Nigeria – Oshiomhole

The national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole has said former vice president, Atiku Abubakar was never destined to rule Nigeria.

He said this at a press conference while reacting to the Peoples Democratic Party candidate’s rejection of the election result.

“It borders on arrogance that our future is tied on his presidency. Atiku is destined never to be president of Nigeria.

“Leadership is about character. Atiku’s desperation is so obvious, so desperate that in 2003, he challenged his own boss, President Olusegun Obasanjo, not to do a second term.

“Was he going to rule Nigeria against our wish? Citizens must hold their leaders accountable to their policy choices. Even when he said even if he if he will die he will sell NNPC many believed that he has collected deposit,” Oshiomhole said.

Mr Abubakar’s fourth attempt to clinch the presidency was dashed in the just concluded presidential election when the incumbent president, Muhammadu Buhari was announced as winner.

He has said he will not accept the result of the election because the process was not fair and is seeking legal redress in court.

Mr Oshiomhole said Saturday’s election “was a referendum between ‘integrity’ and ‘no integrity’ and Nigerians have made their choice”.

Sen. Bukola Saraki loses Senatorial seat in Kwara

Sen. Bukola Saraki loses re-election to the Senate house to APC Oloriegbe.

The Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki of the PDP loses his re-election to the upper Legislative Arm on Saturday election to APC Dr. Oloriegbe.

Oloriegbe polled a total of 123,808 votes to defeat the Senate President who had 68,994 votes in the four local governments of Kwara Central Senatorial District.

Buhari is using the Anointing of Idi-Amin – Senator Dino Melaye

President Muhammadu Buhari has failed to speak with utmost decorum and respect to the rule of law.

Senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi West senatorial district was once again seen on air while addressing party members, during the PDP emergency meeting yesterday. Dino Melaye was last heard since January due to a criminal case conspiracy he was involved.

While addressing party members Dino said President Muhammadu Buhari has failed to speak with utmost decorum and respect to the rule of law, and he has called on President to apologize to Nigerians and retract his statement ordering the military to deal with ballot box snatchers “ruthlessly”.

The Sanator said, Buhari speaks with “the anointing of Idi-Amin” under a democracy.

“I am utterly disappointed in my president. I am completely in shock that in a democratic setting, a president will speak with the anointing if Idi Amin of Uganda, the president will use the word ‘ruthless’, the president will order killings of Nigerians without going through legal procedures. That is totally unacceptable.

“I expected that by now the President should have apologized to Nigerians and withdraw that statement but instead there have been a lot of efforts, boxing the wind by Chieftains of the APC, trying to defend what is not defendable”.
