President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived Nigeria after over 100days away from the country. He has been in the UK receiving treated for an undisclosed ailment.
The President left the country since May this year, and handed over power to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, to function as Acting President since then.
The president’s long absence has been a source of several protests and counter-protests in the countryside many called on him to either resume or resign. The announcement of President Buhari’s imminent return has generated a lot of excitement all over Nigeria and the presidential villa at Aso Rock, Abuja is not left out. The presidential villa is reportedly with activities as staff and security personnel are making last minute preparations to receive him. Many dignitaries from the country and APC were also on ground to receive him.
President Buhari is expected to speak to Nigerians in a broadcast by 7 a.m on Monday, August 21, 2017. He thanks all Nigerians who have prayed ceaselessly for his recovery and well-being since the beginning of the health challenge.
