Monaco’s rising star , Kylian Mbappe is ready to steal the headlines once again as he dreams of lifting the Champions League trophy as they face Juventus for a place in the finals.
Mbappe, is the joint-top scorer in the competition this season alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and hopes to get among the goals and help Monaco defy the odds to reach the Final
Mbappe has so far guided his side through qualifying and a group stage campaign which also contained Tottenham and Bayer Leverkusen.
Monaco then knocked out big-spending Manchester City before overcoming Borussia Dortmund in what was a testing quarter-final tie after the first-leg bomb scare in Germany.
On Wednesday night, the Stade Louis II will play host to an Italian side who were so impressive in the way they restricted a marauding Barcelona both at home and away, securing their place in the last four without conceding a goal over 180 minutes.
Meanwhile, Juventus are bidding to reach their second final in three seasons and secure their first Champions League title since 1996.
Massimiliano Allegri’s side overcame Barcelona 3-0 on aggregate in the quarter-finals to reach the last four for the third time in four seasons.
They head into the semi-final clash with Monaco on the back of a 2-2 draw with Atalanta on Friday. And though his side were unable to come away with all three points, forward Juan Cuadrado believes the Serie A clash served as perfect preparation for the game with Monaco.
‘The game against Atalanta was useful for Wednesday night in that Monaco operates in a similar way,’ he said.
‘Both teams have very good young players who look to play quickly and put you under a lot of pressure. We need to show our usual solidity, focus and desire all over the field because it will be a very difficult match.’
Standing in their way now, however, is an exciting Monaco side featuring the likes of Kylian Mbappe.
